Ottawa officer left after the army learned about the anti -Semitic, homophobic ‘Blue Hackle Mafia’ group

The Canadian Army has interrupted the Ottawan Cameron Highlanders commanding officer after finding a Facebook group with “horrible” content.

As CBC News reported earlier this month, the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) has studied the “Blue Hackle Mafia” group, which, according to the army, was full of “racist, misogy, homophobic and anti -Semitic comments and pictures”.

Army Commander General. Michael Wright told members in a message held on July 16 that he had temporarily removed the Canadian Army Infantry Regiment Cameron Highlanders as the group continues.

The CAF later confirmed that the commander was Lieutenant. Ryan Spirit.

The temporary main official has been appointed to supervise the unit.

“This case has damaged the reputation of the Canadian Army at a time when we are doing important modernization work as part of Canada’s finished, flexible and relevant armed forces,” Wright wrote in the statement.

He previously described the content of the Facebook group as “horrifying” and said that some of the messages “hate”.

Screenshots, reported to be from a group and shared with the Ottawa citizenInclude hostile comments for women and the derogatory sexual comments of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In a message described by a newspaper, members talked about the drinking of drinks at the Ottawa Bar.

“Everything welcome (except the Jews of course),” replied.

CBC News has not confirmed screenshots.

Wright’s statement states that the army is examining the group part of the alleged unethical behavior of Canadian Army members. The military police also investigate the group.

Blue Hackle Mafia is one of the two high-profile stories of the armed forces this month.

Last week, the RCMP accused four men, including two members of the armed forces and one former member of collecting weapons and explosives as part of an alleged system to take over the country near the city of Quebec.
