The chrome is undoubtedly The world’s most popular browser. As such, it is a very good opportunity to use it to read this article right now. If you happen to do so in your Mac, especially in older Mac, I have some news: Google may drop Chrome support on your machine soon.
The company rejected the news quietly In a message on its Chrome Platform Status site. Chrome 138, current version of Chrome, supports the last Macos 11, otherwise known as Macos Big Sur. When Google publishes Chrome 139, it is only available on Macs 12 or newer Macs -Mac.
This does not mean that Chrome goes out on Mac devices that go to Big Suria. You don’t have to worry about losing access to the Internet overnight, just because you happen to use an older machine. However, this means that the Chrome version will not receive future updates – including important protection repairs. Security repairs are essential for the safe use of technology forms on the Internet: the vulnerability of software is inevitable, and once they have been found, developers compete to repair them before hackers learn to use them.
Google often gives Chrome security repairs and often corrects critical problems after They are publicly published or utilized (otherwise called to the vulnerability of zero). As such, it is not safe to use the Chrome version that does not have the latest security repairs for a long time, which means that Macos Big Sur users really should not use Chrome in the near future. Also, Apple no longer publishes security updates for Big Sur. What to do if your Mac is running Big Sur
Macos Big Sur was released in November 2020, so if you have been able to update your Mac recently, you are probably safe here. But just to be sure you can check which version you use by clicking Apple in the upper left and selecting About this mac. You can see the software version next to “Macos”.

If you use Big Suri, see if there is an update available for a newer version of MacOS System Settings> General> Software Update– Every macos 12 or later does. If the update is not available, Mac may not support Macos 12 or newer, and is then stuck in Macos 11 for Apple.
You have some options here that don’t buy a newer Mac. If you are not locked for Chrome, you can simply switch to a browser that will continue to support Big Sur. This includes Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Opera, all three of which continue to provide software and security updates to Internet browsing needs.
If you need Chrome and you happen to be a bit technically skilled, consider touring Apple to upgrade your Mac -Mac to a newer MacOS version.
