The industrial leader is calling for recognition of the construction trade after trillium prize-winning recovery measures
Duron Ontario Ltd., a long-term construction and restoration director, uses his most recent role in revitalizing the position of the Toronto Union’s status of the Union to increase the value of skilled shops, especially when Canada faces a critical labor shortage.
Duron Ontario, who won their work at the “Toronto Union Station” event, which won the first trillium award of the all -time Sealtint & Waterproinding Association (Swwa), emphasizes the role of specialized trading workers in complex, high -profile infrastructure projects.
“It’s definitely a historical aspiration and a very high profile project,” it said. “It’s one of the most important and iconic buildings in the city, so participating in this project and incorporating the Trillium Award was special.”
A project that introduces professional shops at its best
Duron Ontario was chosen as an approved and professional applicator for CETCO’s Coreflex 60 Waterproofing System Installing Washed Waterproofing in Canada History.
This complex work required heat to weld each seam and penetration with accurate temperature management to create a continuous waterproof membrane under the busiest transport center in Canada.
“The system was very important because all the risks of the weak area were allowed into the water, and it was simply not an option,” explained. “We worked below the busiest transit center in Canada, so the membrane had to be performed without continuous pressure and vibration. Each seam had to be welded with accuracy repair, timing and technique, as even a small imperfection could endanger the entire waterproof system. It required discipline, experience and tight quality control throughout.”
Such a technical precision that has been performed under high pressure, high-stake conditions-exactly why projects such as Union Station depend on experienced trade professionals. It emphasizes that water keepers, roof plants and other experts will be in the protection of important infrastructure in the coming decades.
Duron also played a key role in developing more than 100 location -specific waterproofing data in collaboration with Norr and CETCO to reflect the site’s complex underground conditions, which ensures waterproofing in every pipe, tunnel and legs.
Urgent need for professional labor investment
Duron Ontario’s call for a greater trade recognition will be when the construction industry has an unprecedented work crisis. According to Canada statistics, the country has a lack of more than 300,000 construction workers by 2032 due to retirement employees and less young participants.
“Without experienced trade professionals, projects such as Union Station would not be possible,” Duron Ontario emphasized and pointed out a broader risk of Canada’s critical infrastructure.
According to the company, society often forgets the very technical nature of shops such as waterproofing, concrete work and roofs, which are important for general safety and long -term infrastructure.
“It is definitely a historical aspiration and a very high profile project … it is one of the most important and iconic buildings in the city, so participate in this project and include the Trillium Award win.”
The Union Station Revitalization set a new point of comparison for cooperation between architects, engineers and shops. Duron Ontario’s role in the supply of a waterproof system, under a living, operational inheritance site, shows not only technical expertise but also the growing importance of skilled stores in the supply of sustainable infrastructure.

“We added an incredible number of areas that invent it and make it a real process or transport processor that is flawless for the next 50 years.”
The message of Duron Ontario is clear: the placement of Trades invests in the future of every community.
