Chrome for iOS is easier to exchange between work and personal google accounts

On Monday, Google announced that it will introduce a new feature that allows iOS users to easily switch between work and personal Google accounts in Chrome. In the past, iOS users had to log in completely from a Google account and log in to another and repeat this process every time they want to use a different account.

“People often use their mobile devices for both work and personal assignments and demand them to sign in and out on different Google accounts,” the company wrote in a blog message. “To simplify this experience to tighten security, Chrome is now changing a seamless account by separating controlled account data.”

When users log in or change their Google account in Chrome, browsing their organization is kept separate from their other browsing on the device. Local information and content, including tabs, history and passwords, remain only in the managed account browsing experience. Google says this is ideal for both end users and IT administrators.

The update comes when Google says that many organizations are moving from corporate phones, which means that employees often have to get the company’s resources from their personal phones and computers. Google says that improved account exchange experience and data separation “allows companies to allow employees to use the device you choose.”

For the first time, users log in or switch to a controlled account, they see the vehicle display that explains the separation of the controlled account and how their organization processes their information.

Organizations maintain control and decide how to process existing browsing information when the user initially signed or connects to a controlled account. When users move into their controlled account, they are informed that they will have a controlled experience.

Google also announced that it had included more advanced security features that IT departments can implement.

Chrome Enterprise’s reporting opportunities now extend to both Android and iOS, which means that organizations can now send critical information about security transactions to the Google Management Console, Chrome Logs or Siem Security Research Tool. Google says this allows IT teams to make more conscious decisions about general security.

Google also brings the URL address to iOS, so organizations can, for example, make employees from visiting the class level of the forbidden Genai sites and direct them to approved business services.
