Every time I buy a new Apple product, I’m facing a moral and ethical problem: Isn’t me, or not, do you buy AppleCare? In fact, AppleCare adds extra cost to the expensive laptops or smartphones. However, it may save me money on the road if something happens to my device – do I drop the iPhone and break the screen or someone grabs it while outside.
The problem with AppleCare -like warranties, except for the price itself, is that they apply only one product you buy. It makes sense – one product, one warranty. But you rarely buy one product with Apple. The ecosystem is designed to work best when you have more than one Apple device. Suddenly, you are not just about buying the iPhone AppleCare, but also from Macbook, iPad, Apple Watch. Maybe you bite your bullet and empty your wallet to protect everything. Or you choose and choose by prioritizing pricing devices while leaving cheaper equipment vulnerable.
I often find myself in the latter category: I can’t buy a mac without Applecare, but I go without it for the iPhone and pray not to drop it. However, Apple’s latest warranty plan, AppleCare One, may assure you that some like people begin to cover more of their devices than usual.
AppleCare one
Apple announced a new warranty plan on Wednesday morning. Here’s a gist: for $ 19.99 a month you can cover up to three Apple devices at a time. If you have more than three devices, you can add extra coverage by $ 5.99 pop.
If you feel AppleCare +You are not surprised by your AppleCare coverage. It gives you an unlimited correction of damage to drops and leaks, 24/7 “priority” support from Apple, and coverage of battery problems. Like AppleCare+, iPhones are covered for theft and defeat, but one big difference with the AppleCare One app is that this coverage also extends to the iPad and Apple Watch. (Apple says that AppleCare+ plans for these devices will rise as a result.) If you lose your Apple Watch application on vacation or iPad is stolen from your bag, this plan will cover you.
You can also add the products you own for a while. In the past, you had to sign up for your device in AppleCare within 60 days of buying them. But now you can add up to four years old devices to the AppleCare plan. It enables older products you have purchased, assuming they are in good enough condition to register.
That’s the thing: Apple has no specific title you can follow so you know if your device is entitled to AppleCare One. If it flows and there are no visible cracks or scratches, it seems that there is a good chance that it will be accepted but it make must be accepted. Of course you can do it from Apple Store, but Apple has also built tools for both the Apple Store and the device setting application to estimate the condition of the device. It includes a diagnostic test to make sure it works properly, but you also need a separate device, such as iPhone, to take photos of your device to make sure it applies. If not, you can fix it first, then sign up for its AppleCare program.
Also, AppleCare one has no validity date. You can keep your device registered for as long as you want, and because it is a monthly plan, you can mix and match which devices are covered as you want.

Of course, $ 20 per month is not cheap. It is at least one unless two orders for streaming services. However, it is a complex situation. If you tend to cover all Apple devices, this is probably a win. If you have a 13 -inch MacBook Air (usually $ 6.99 per month), iPhone 16e (typically $ 9.99 per month) and Apple Watch Series 10 (typically $ 3.99 per month), you save the dollar with this new plan. If you have a more expensive MacBook, such as a 16-inch professional (typically $ 14.99) and an expensive iPhone, such as 16 Pro (typically $ 13.99 per month), you save quite a bit.
Of course, if you have only two relatively inexpensive Apple devices – iPhone 16e for $ 9.99 and Mac Mini for $ 3.49, this plan is not attractive at all. Applecare one could be a move
There are things I really do about this plan. One, it makes simple to cover multiple Apple devices at a time – $ 20 is not a terrible The price ensures that Mac, iPhone and iPad are all covered. But more than it may encourage us to use our equipment longer. We have conditions to update our devices as soon as they break, and the limited, exclusive rights do not help. By allowing you to increase older devices without covering up, you can be sure that your current iPhone, iPad, MacBook or Apple Watch will be supported for the future. It is no longer a question of “use it”. It’s pretty cool.
