Two years ago, IOS Chrome copied one of the best (if controversial at that time) recent changes and eventually users can move the application address bar (or URL beam) to the bottom of the page. This can allow for a more comfortable use of one hand, as it is much easier for some users to reach the bottom-targeted address bar with their thumbs, especially with larger phones.
Weird, however, the feature did not get to Android – until now.
About a month ago, Google Finally brokenwhich allows Android users to also transfer their chrome address beams. It is a simple enough process-key for a long time pressure in the address bar and select “Move the address bar to the bottom”. Alternatively you can also click the three -point menu in the upper right to open Settings menu and select the location of the address bar Address bar part. If you want to change it back, repeat the same steps, but move the address bar to the top of the page this time.
As small as this change may seem, it is certainly an easier group of Android users. Technically, it began to spread towards the end of June, but it needed a while to get to everyone. Now with the publication Chrome version 138That time has arrived.
You may need to update Chrome before you see it or even force stop it a few times, but when it is ready for you, you will theoretically see the announcement next to the address bar that “you can touch and move to the bottom of the address bar”.
What do you think so far?
In other words, not everyone sees the notification – my colleague Zdnet No, but it did not prevent them from moving their address beams. If you feel stuck, just try to move your bar and see what you get.
What you prefer from a new location address bar, it’s probably what phone you have and how you want to keep it. But it’s great to get more options.
