Alberta selection candidates reported “possibly threatening” comments: RCMP

According to RCMP, several next month’s selections of Battle River -Crowfoot have announced that they have received negative and sometimes “potentially threatening comments” on social media platforms, according to RCMP.

“Although Canadians have the right to express their opinion, even the critical of political characters, threats or comments that exceed the line to criminal behavior, is taken seriously,” RCMP wrote in his statement.

Independent candidate Sarah Spanier is one of over 150 candidates competing alongside Pierre Poilievre, a conservative leader, who drives a horse in the lower room.

But Spanier said he was a break so far by knocking the doors, citing the hostile comments received during his campaign.

“I had people who told me I was going to regret it and my family will regret it,” Spanier said. “Then it started to slow down slowly:” If you come here, you apologize for it. “

The rhetoric got the “even more aggressive” in Spanier’s view when he began to talk about his support for transsexual.

“The comments I received were just useless, and not exactly something you can say on TV or on the radio,” he said.

Spanier shared screenshots with CBC news from various social media comments. One user sent that “(Spanier is) ignorant pig and I pray (he is destroyed)” while the other wrote “Come to my door, they apologize for it.”

Another accused Spanier tried to “sabotage” Poilievre.

More than 150 candidates against Poilievre, most are the defenders of the electoral buddies known as the longest voting committee.
