Cosby show star Malcolm-Jamal Warner dies at 54 after drowning on family holiday

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, an actor who played Theo Huxtable on the Cosby Show, died at the age of 54 after drowning during a family vacation in Costa Rica.

Warner drowned on a beach on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica on Sunday afternoon, the Justice Investigation Department in Costa Rica said on Monday.

He swims in Playa Cocles in Limon Province when an electric current pulls him deep into the ocean.

The department’s preliminary report said: “He was rescued by people on the beach, but the first responder of the Costa Rican Red Cross found that he had no vital signs and he was taken to the morgue.
